Information Report – Writing descriptive sentences

Year One:

Try to vary your sentence starters so you are not starting with the same words each time. Eg. Dogs have four padded feet. Their tails are long and fluffy.

Use your labelled pet diagram to write sentences that clearly describe what your pet looks like. Please use the lined paper provided in your child’s take home book bag. We would like the diagram and writing to be handed to the teacher when school resumes.

Make your own mandala.

Mandalas are usually circular patterns. Many people find that creating mandalas is calming.

Use objects in your house or garden to create your own mandala. You could use leaves, rocks, blocks, toys, Lego or even shoes! Take a picture of your creation when you are finished and send it to your teacher.
