Year 5 & 6 – Week 5 Science Remote Learning Task

Anton van Leewenhoek (1632-1723) was born over 350 years ago in Holland. He wasn’t a scientist but had a hobby that allowed him to see a world that no one had seen before him.

Read about how Anton van Leewenhoek created and used the first Microscope (report included in your take home pack) then get creative!

On the opposite side of the Scientific report draw a detailed picture of any object you can imagine placed under a microscope.

 Week 5 – Silly Stories!

‘Yesterday, I was returning to my Jelly office in my car made from marshmallows when I realised I had left my wooden keys on the chocolate bench on top of my favourite Metal book’

Excuse me?

Yes, that’s right all the materials in my short story have changed!

Imagine if we had different materials for our items we use every day.

‘It was the morning of my Birthday and I jumped out of my plastic bed and onto the ice floor. I couldn’t wait to unwrap my presents, I had asked my mum for a new water bike.

Wha?? A bike made of liquid?

Well, Year Prep, 1 & 2. Now it’s your turn to write your own Silly Story, changing all the materials the items in your story are made of to make it UNBELIEVABLE!

*Preps – If you can’t right the whole story down, record it on your phone as a quick video and send it to Mr. A at;

Year 1 & 2 have fun creating your crazy new world writing your Silly stories!

Science Year 3 & 4 Remote Learning Task – Week 5

Science Year 3 & 4

Remote Learning Task – Week 5

Day and NightScience Poster

This week’s Year 3 & 4 Remote Learning Science Lesson asks the students to place the things they listed as Night & Day items in their T-Chart form Week 4 into a Science poster.

Dividing their A3 poster paper in half (landscape) they are to draw some of the items they included in their Day side of their chart on the lighter side of the page,

Then draw some of the items they included in their Night side of their chart on the darker side.

Include the headings Day & Night and remember to use Dark colours throughout your Night drawing so as your items and creatures look like they are in the dark – then lighten up your Day side with bright and vibrant colours!

Have fun and remember you are welcome to send photos of your posters to Mr.A at;
