Please take a photo of the work you complete and send it to your teacher via your Home Learning Code on your Class Seesaw app.

Webex meetings will be held each day at 9:30am to mark the roll and to clarify expectations of daily work.

Webex meetings will be open for an additional 30 minutes for you to ask questions or clarify work. If you need any additional support, please jump back on Webex (10:00-10:30) and your teacher will be able to assist you further.

Your teacher may also ask you to stay back on Webex for small group work at this time.

Reading fluency (15-30 mins):

  1. Read to self or read to someone (pet, doll, teddy, younger sibling…).
  2. Choose a good fit book or Wushka text https://wushka.com.au/login/

Learning Intention:

We are learning to ask questions before/during reading and then search for answers in the text using the features of a non-fiction text.

Success Criteria:

  • I can ask questions before reading a non fiction text
  • I can ask questions during reading
  • I can use features of a non-fiction text (contents, glossary, index etc) to find information
  • I can search for information to answer questions

Complete the graphic organiser based on your ASSIGNED TEXT on Wushka. The organiser can also be found on Seesaw.

Ask at least 2 questions before reading and 2 questions during reading.

Use the features of your non-fiction text (context, glossary, index etc.) to help you find the answer. Write the answer after reading.


□ Spelling Fluency (10 minutes):

Independent Task: Sounds in polysyllabic words

Underline the individual sounds and the syllables in each word.

 

Learning Intention:

We are learning to write an information report introduction

Success Criteria:

  • I can include a general opening statement
  • I can classify the topic
  • I can include technical information about the subject of the report

Hook:

Independent Writing Task:

Introduction – Today you are going to write an introduction to your information report on Platypuses.

Include:

  • Opening statement (sizzling start)
  • Classification of platypus
  • Technical information about platypus

Facts you may include about platypus in your introduction:

  • lays eggs like a reptile or bird but is covered in fur and drinks milk like a mammal
  • people first though Platypus were fake
  • platypus and echidnas are the only living monotremes (mammal that lays eggs) 
  • only found in Australia

PLEASE EDIT YOUR WORK BEFORE SENDING IT TO YOUR TEACHER (CAPITAL LETTERS, FULL STOPS, SPELLING ETC.)

EXAMPLE:


Counting Fluency (10 mins): Practise quick recall of your assigned multiplication goal. Practice your skip counting pattern or times tables out of order. OR IXL Multiplication Skill Builders.

We are learning to count small collections of money

Success Criteria:

  • I can order money from smallest to largest
  • I can add up to 100 cents to make 1 dollar

IXL Warm Up: YEAR 3 N.1 Count coins and notes – up to $5 note

Complete the ‘How Much Money is in My Jar’ worksheet on Seesaw, by printing or by answering in your book.

Answers should be written using a dollar sign. For example: $3.75


Art Activity:

Listen to music. Draw lines and shapes as you listen that match the SOUNDS and RHYTHMS you hear.
