Remote Learning – Wednesday 12th August

Reading– 15 minutes
Select a reader from your reader cover. Read several readers to a toy. Ensure that you use a nice clear talking voice. Think about the story as you read the book, does it make sense.

Sight Word Follow Up- Type your sight words/sounds-write words on an iPad or computer.

Optional Webex Meetings – Refer to the codes sent to you via SeeSaw. This is an opportunity for the whole class to touch base and ask questions.

Writing
Fluency– Use the sheet provided from school to trace over/write the alphabet. Ensure that your child is focusing using correct pencil grip along with the correct starting position.

Writing Task- Information sentences in your writing book.
*Don’t forget to say the sounds and write the word.

Watch the videos below about the platypus if you need more information.
Use your labelled picture from yesterday to write many descriptive sentences about the features of a platypus. For example;

Prep- The platypus has a bill. The platypus has 4 feet. etc.

Grade 1- The platypus has a large black bill. The platypus has a sharp spur on its leg. etc. 

Grade 2- The platypus has a large black bill that is used to forage for food along the river bed. The male platypus has a poisonous spur on its hind leg. etc.

Maths

Fluency (15 minutes)
Trace over the number sheet- 
Ensure that you start in the correct starting position
Counting goal- 
Practice your individual counting goal.

Prep/One – Skip counting by 2’s.

 

Two’s- Extension. Skip Count by 3’s

 

Independent Task- Please have the following resources for this activity- spiral snake worksheet, work book, something to write with and scissors.
