Remote Learning – Tuesday 11th August

Reading– 15 minutes
Select a reader from your reader cover. Practice reading in phrases (words together) and in a clear  voice. Once you have practiced, you could ask Mum or Dad to record your reading (30 seconds) so that you can listen back and check how your reading sounded.

Sounds Write– 20 minutes

Sight Word Follow Up- Write your sight words or your sounds-write words in rainbow colours.

Optional Webex Meetings – Refer to the codes sent to you via SeeSaw. This is an opportunity for the whole class to touch base and ask questions.

Writing
Fluency– Use the sheet provided from school to trace over/write the alphabet. Ensure that your child is focusing using correct pencil grip along with the correct starting position.

Writing Task- Watch the videos below, taking notice of the main features of a platypus.  In your work book draw a picture of a platypus. Neatly label your picture to show the main features of a platypus.  *** Assessment Task –  Parents please note that this is an assessment task and should be photographed and sent to your child’s teacher via Seesaw. ***

Year 1 and 2 students – you could challenge yourself by adding some adjectives to your labels such as ‘smooth, dark fur’, ‘long bill’, ‘furry tail’.

Maths

Fluency (15 minutes)
Trace over the number sheet- 
Ensure that you start in the correct starting position
Counting goal- 
Practice your individual counting goal.

Prep/One – Skip counting by 2’s.

 

Two’s- Extension. Skip Count by 3’s

Independent Task:

Resources required: You will need counters or small pieces of paper, something to write with and your work book.
Task: Make groups that increase by two each time. For example: “2,4,6,8,10,12” as they get the items use their twos skip counting to create the number with counters that increase each time by 2.

Extension: Can you complete the above task by using a 3’s or 4’s skip counting pattern?

When your pattern is complete draw it neatly into your work book.
