Learning Intention:

We are learning to study the work of an Author – Matt Porter.

Success Criteria:

    1. I can research the life of an Author.
    2. I can design a character inspired by the Author.
    3. I can identify characteristics of the Authors writing.

Learning Intention:

We are learning to spell words that include the graph /r/ making the sound ‘r’ as in rain.

Success Criteria:

I can break up a word into smaller sound parts. I can stretch out a word to hear each sound.

I can represent each sound I hear in a word by a single letter or group of letters.

I can make generalisations about different sounds that are represented by the same letter.

Activity: Choose 10 words from this week’s spelling list.                Break each spelling word down, recognising the sounds in the word. What letters make the sounds ie. graph, digraph, trigraph, quadgraph.

We can:

*Use place value knowledge to describe each number in its place.

*Write decimals in words

*Use visual models to describe the value of a decimal number.
