Warm upMultiplication: Give me 5

Please see the example below for how to fill out the ‘Give me 5’ sheet:

Grade 1: Give me 5

Use two dice if you have some or choose 2 numbers that are 6 and under (but not 0 or 1). Use the image below as a guide to draw up 4 boxes to record your work and remember to write the equation in the middle of the page. (Put it in a plastic pocket so you can use it over and over). Practise 2 equations.

Grade 2: Give me 5

Use two dice if you have some or choose 2 numbers to 10 (but not 0 or 1). Use the image below as a guide to draw up 4 boxes to record your work and remember to write the equation in the middle of the page. (Put it in a plastic pocket so you can use it over and over). Practise 2 equations.

MASS:

  • Watch the following two clips on Youtube to learn about measuring with scales and also with measuring cups.
  • Today get creative in the kitchen (with mum/dad or a helper) and make something using some type of measuring tool eg. measuring cups, spoons or scales. Some suggestions are pancakes, a smoothie, cupcakes or a packet mix cake.
  • We love to see what you’ve made so make sure you get some photos and send them through Seesaw to your teacher.
  • Then complete the worksheet below the videos.

Watch the video about foxes:

Please get out your fox diagram from your pack. Use this diagram and your labels to write descriptive sentences about foxes.

Year One:

Try to vary your sentence starters so you are not starting with the same words each time. Eg. Dogs have four padded feet. Their tails are long and fluffy.

Use your labelled fox diagram to write sentences that clearly describe what a fox looks like. Please use the lined paper provided in your child’s take home book bag. We would like the diagram and writing to be handed to the teacher when school resumes.
